1. Who we are
Kredibility Finance (Private) Limited (“Kredibility”, “we”, “our”) is a registered credit-only microfinance institution incorporated in Zimbabwe and licensed by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe. We are based at Club Chambers, 11th Floor, Corner Third and Nelson Mandela Avenue, Harare. This Privacy Policy applies to all personal information we collect through our website, loan application forms, marketing channels and any other point of contact with you.
2. Information we collect
We collect personal information in several ways depending on how you interact with us.
When you apply for a loan, we collect your full name, national ID number, phone number, email address, employer or business name, monthly income, employment type and the details of the facility you are requesting. When you contact us via our website, WhatsApp or email, we collect the information you share in that communication. When you visit our website, we automatically collect certain technical data including your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, time spent on each page and the source through which you arrived (for example, a Facebook advertisement or Google search).
3. Marketing, advertising and tracking technologies
Kredibility Finance uses digital marketing and advertising tools to reach people who may benefit from our products. We are transparent about how these work.
Meta Pixel (Facebook & Instagram Advertising). Our website uses the Meta Pixel, a piece of code provided by Meta Platforms Inc. (Facebook). The Meta Pixel tracks your interactions with our website — including pages you visit and actions you take such as submitting a loan application. This data is sent to Meta and allows us to measure how effective our Facebook and Instagram advertisements are, show our advertisements to people who have visited our website (remarketing), and build audiences of people with similar characteristics to our existing visitors and applicants (lookalike audiences). If you are a Facebook or Instagram user, Meta may match your website behaviour with your profile. You can control your ad preferences through your Facebook ad settings at facebook.com/adpreferences.
Google Analytics and advertising. We may use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website. Google Analytics collects data such as pages visited, session duration and traffic sources. We may also use Google Ads for advertising campaigns. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Remarketing. We use remarketing advertising, which means that if you have visited our website without applying, you may subsequently see Kredibility Finance advertisements on Facebook, Instagram or other platforms. These advertisements are targeted based on your previous visit to our website. We do not use your national ID, income figures or loan application data for advertising targeting — remarketing is based only on your website visit behaviour.
Cookies. Our website uses cookies — small text files stored on your device — to enable website functionality, remember your preferences and support our advertising and analytics tools. The cookies we use include those set by Meta Pixel and Google Analytics. By using our website, you consent to the use of these cookies. Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of some parts of our website.
WhatsApp Business. If you contact us via WhatsApp, the conversation is managed through WhatsApp Business. WhatsApp’s own privacy policy governs communications on that platform. We use WhatsApp only for responding to your enquiries and do not use WhatsApp data for advertising targeting.
4. How we use your information
Your personal information is used to assess your loan application and verify your identity and income, conduct the affordability assessment required under the Microfinance Act, communicate with you about the status of your application, comply with our obligations to the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe and ZIMRA, send you relevant information about our products if you have consented to marketing communications, and measure and improve the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns.
We do not sell your personal information to any third party. We do not share your loan application data, national ID, income details or financial information with advertisers or marketing platforms.
5. Consent and your right to withdraw
Where we rely on your consent to process your personal information — for example, to contact you about your application or to send you marketing communications — you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. To withdraw consent, email admin@kredibilityfinance.co.zw with your request. We will action all withdrawal requests within five business days.
Consent records are stored for a minimum of three years to comply with our regulatory obligations. When you submit a loan application, the date, time and nature of your consent is recorded and forms part of your application record.
6. How we protect your information
Application data is handled only by authorised Kredibility Finance credit team members. Access to applicant records is restricted, logged and reviewed as part of our internal audit process. We do not store national ID numbers, income data or financial information on public-facing systems. Data transmitted through our online application form is encrypted in transit via HTTPS when the website is accessed from our live domain.
7. How long we keep your information
If your loan application is approved, we retain your records for the full term of the facility and for a minimum of five years thereafter as required by the Microfinance Act and RBZ directives. If your application is declined or not completed, we retain the submitted information for a maximum of twelve months before it is securely deleted. Marketing engagement data (website visits, ad interactions) is governed by the data retention policies of Meta and Google respectively.
8. Third-party links
Our website may contain links to third-party websites including WhatsApp, Facebook and Google. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any external sites you visit.
9. Your rights
You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, request corrections to inaccurate information, request deletion of your information where we are not required by law to retain it, object to the processing of your information for marketing purposes, and withdraw consent at any time where consent is the basis for processing. 10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology or legal obligations. The date at the top of this page will always show when the policy was last updated. Continued use of our website after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
